Our Farm diary

Winter is really here now, all our cattle are in their winter housing and ready for the busy calving period in the coming months. Our cows were scanned for pregnancy this month and we had a conception rate of 99% which was really pleasing for us, we also TB tested in December and the results were clear which is always a relief.

The inewes are still out and wont come into the barns until the md to end of January after they have been scanned to settle down before lambing.

During the winter we also service and prepare our machinery and move countless lorry loads of cereals.

Whilst writing this on a cold wet Saturday morning, spring and summer seem a distant memory but the shortest day will soon be here, the New Year brings new life onto the farm and spring will be here. For now Merry Christmas everyone and I wish you a prosperous New Year
