April 2024

April always is a very busy time for us, we are almost through lambing and calving but now we have all our spring crops to plant and winter crops to apply fungicides and growth regulator to do. It's essential we do this to prevent disease taking away the crop and for the healthy plants to remian standing in the later stages of ripening. Calving has gone well and lambing seems to be going the same way. Most of the ewes are now out with their lambs enjoying the mild weather, we along with every farmer in the area just wish it would stop raining, hopefully the weather will improve and the cows and calves can start to go out, until then its the daily routine of feeding and giving every pen more fresh straw.
